Travel Forecast:

Road conditions are expected to be hazardous through Saturday evening. If you can stay off the roads try to as much as possible. (Photo below is timestamped at 9:00 a.m Saturday)

You can follow live road conditions using this link: https://www.gettingaroundillinois.com/winterconditions/
And by turning on the “Road Weather” layer on your 25 Weather Tracker Mobile App! (It’s handy!)

I don’t expect road conditions to improve until the late afternoon into the evening hours. If you can STAY HOME and off the roads DO SO. We’ve had multiple reports of accidents already this morning.  Road conditions should greatly improve by Sunday.

Quick Hit:

  • Areas along I-74: 5-8″ of snow
  • South of I-74 – Lincoln/Havana/Springfield: 6-10″ of snow
