When Beck’s florist in East Peoria painted the shop after two decades, many people took to social to buzz about the makeover.
“I just thought it needed a pop. Color, in my business, makes it pop,” said owner Greg Becks.
Beck’s Florist is usually known for its flower arrangements made for individual customers.
Now they’ve created one for the city.
“We have fun here no matter who walks through the door,” said Becks.
Beck’s Florist picked a local artist to crate this masterpiece.
“I’m honored to be a part of Beck’s now and East Peoria as well. I think of this as a bouquet for the town,” said Luke Kinzler, who has put in over 50 hours into the mural.
No detail was sparred in the design process.
Every flower in this mural you can find in the store year round.
“Instead of putting Tulips and things like that. We wanted to make sure people knew that you could walk in our door and buy them today,” said Becks.
Even the pollinators were included.
The artist worked at night so people could wake up to a surprise addition.
“All the time put into it is worth it in the end,” said Kinzler.
Love it. Hate it. It’s staying.
