Man shot in early morning Peoria shooting

7:24 AM UPDATE: Peoria Police Spokeswoman Amy Dotson says two shot spotter alerts came in of five rounds and 12 rounds fired in Tuesday morning’s shooting.

The man was shot in the back, but was conscious, alert, and talking.

Shell casings were collected on scene.

The shooting remains under investigation.

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) — A man is hospitalized after being shot on the city of Peoria’s South Side.

Police tell us a shotspotter alert came in around 5:20 AM Tuesday in the 2700 block of Trewyn.

A male victim was later found in the 2900 block of Krause.

Police spokeswoman Amy Dotson says the man is conscious, alert, and talking.

There is no word on suspect information at this time.
