PEORIA COUNTY — Claims of discrimination are now being called false.

The Peoria County Sheriff himself took to Facebook to clear things up.

Apparently, a volunteer with the Sheriff’s Office claimed he was denied service at a local Hardee’s.

He said he was refused service because he was wearing a “blue lives matter” bracelet.

But, according to Sheriff Brian Asbell, the claim was “completely fabricated.”

They investigated and found there was no refusal of service, and video showed what appeared to be a friendly exchange.

Asbell apologized for the unnamed volunteer, adding that he is no long affiliated with their office.
