McLean County Museum of History collecting school supplies through August 9th

School will be here before you know it, and the McLean County Museum of History is helping get students prepared. Starting July 6 through August 9th they are collecting school supplies for the Back 2 School Alliance.

The school supplies will go to students in need throughout the McLean County area. Donations can be dropped of at the McLean County museum any day they are open and also on Saturday’s at the Bloomington Farmer’s Market. The museum is giving free admission to anyone bringing a donation through August 9th.

Items to be donated:

  • Backpacks (13-18″ tall)
  • Zippered Binder (1.5-2″)
  • 3-ring binder (1.5″)
  • Divider tabs (5 count)
  • Loose leaf paper (wide rule)
  • Spiral notebook (wide rule, 70 count)
  • 2-pocket folders
  • #2 pencils (12 count)
  • Black or Blue pens (10-12 count)
  • Ruler (standard/metric 12″)
  • Markers (washable, thick, classic colors)
  • Crayons (24 count)
  • Colored Pencils (12 count)
  • Glue Sticks (washable)
  • Fiskar Brand Scissors (blunt and pointed tip)
  • Highlighters
  • Index Cards
  • Pink Erasers
