UPDATE: 76-year-old woman in Normal died from carbon monoxide intoxication during house fire

UPDATE 6/13/19: The McLean County coroner released preliminary autopsy results for a house fire victim in Normal. Kathy Yoder said 76-year-old Judith Dawson likely died from carbon monoxide intoxication caused by smoke inhalation and soot inhalation.

Yoder also said there was no sign of injury unrelated to the house fire. There is still no word on the cause of the fire at 1313 Baugh Dr.


UPDATE: McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder says the victim of Wednesday’s house fire is Judith Dawson.

Dawson died in the Emergency Room at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center.

Preliminary autopsy results show the Normal woman died from carbon monoxide intoxication.

The Coroner’s Office, along with the Normal Police and Fire are still investigating.


NORMAL, IL (WEEK) – A 76-year-old woman is dead after a house fire Wednesday afternoon.

The fire happened on the 1300 block of Baugh Drive. McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder says the woman was pronounced dead at 3:59 p.m. She was the only person inside of the house.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. The woman’s name is not being released at this time.

The fire remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office, Normal Police and the Normal Fire Department.
