4-year-old Jeremiah Ward fatally shot in South Peoria

UPDATE 8:39. P.M. – Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said 4-year-old Jeremiah L. Ward died after being shot Monday evening in Peoria. He passed at 6:36 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

It’s still unclear how many times the little boy was shot, but an autopsy is planned for Tuesday morning.

Police said they have no suspect information yet.

UPDATE 7:32 P.M. –  Peoria Police released new information about a double shooting in the 2800 block of W. Ann St. One of the victims is a 4-year-old boy. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. They said the second victim is a 23-year-old man, who was shot in the leg. He is expected to be okay.

Police said they have no suspect information yet.

Peoria Police are investigating a double shooting near Lincoln Terrace. The call at the 2800 block of W. Ann St. came in around 5:42 p.m. Monday evening; police saying about 22 rounds were fired.

Police confirmed one victim is a child with life-threatening injuries; the other victim is an adult man with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the victims were found outside a vehicle, but it’s unclear if the vehicle has any relation to the incident.

Police received the call via Shotspotter alert.
