Missing woman’s trail goes cold at former Lacon gas station

LACON, Ill. (WEEK) — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the disappearance of a woman last seen at a Lacon gas station last fall.

Tiffini Marie Murphy, 38, was last seen when she was dropped off at the Casey’s General Store in Lacon on September 1, 2018 on the way back from Wenona.

Marshall County Sheriff Wayne Strawn said Murphy’s disappearance was initially reported by her father in Peoria County, where she was last known to live. On Jan. 10, the investigation was turned over to Marshall County.

The Casey’s gas station has since permanently closed. Murphy hasn’t been active on social media or seen since Sept. 1, 2018. She is considered endangered.

Murphy is white, 5’6″, 160 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her chest, above her left bra line.

Strawn said the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Marshall County at (309) 246-2115.
