Creve Coeur structure fire under criminal investigation

CREVE COEUR, Ill. (WEEK) — A man is wanted for questioning in connection with an early Tuesday morning fire at a Creve Coeur trailer park.

Firefighters responded to Cedar Ridge Village, 701 Fischer Rd. in Creve Coeur just before 6 a.m. Officers arrived to find half the structure engulfed in flames. Nobody was found in the residence.

Creve Coeur Police Chief Dale King said a neighbor told police both occupants made it out of the residence. Officers found one of the residents, who said her husband made it out of the structure, but she didn’t know his whereabouts.

Police are looking to question the man, Ronald Watters.

The North Pekin, Bartonville, East Peoria, Cincinnati Township and Creve Coeur Fire Departments battled the fire for 3 hours. The Illinois State Fire Marshal, East Peoria Fire Department Arson Investigators and Illinois State Police are investigating the fire.
