Rep. Kinzinger deployed to U.S.-Mexico border with Air National Guard unit

WASHINGTON (WEEK) — An area congressman was deployed with his unit to the U.S.-Mexico border this week.

U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) was sent to the border with his Air National Guard unit in his capacity as an active duty Lieutenant Colonel.

“The Congressman is humbled to serve his IL-16 community here in the People’s House and equally proud to serve as a reconnaissance pilot in the Air Guard. In both of those roles, Congressman Kinzinger fights to make our national security stronger, our border more secure, and our communities safer,” said Kinzinger’s communications director, Maura Gillespie.

Kinzinger’s offices in Washington, D.C. and Illinois remain open to serve constituents. Kinzinger’s sprawling 16th Congressional District includes parts or all of Livingston, Putnam, LaSalle and Stark counties.
