NORMAL, Ill. (WEEK) — The Normal Police Department and Peoria County Coroner are investigating the death of an 8-year-old Normal girl last month.

Normal police said the 8-year-old died Jan. 25. Police were called after Normal Fire Department paramedics picked her up on a rescue call and took her to a Normal hospital. She later died at a Peoria hospital.

“We are early into this investigation, and we are working with the Normal Police Department on this investigation. We are not releasing the circumstances or name of the individual at this time, pending further investigation,” said Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
