Chris Doscotch appointed to fill Peoria County judge vacancy

(WEEK) — The Illinois Supreme Court announced Wednesday Chis Doscotch will fill the vacancy of the 10th Judicial Court circuit judge.

The vacancy was created when Judge Jody Hoos was appointed as the Peoria County State’s Attorney in August. Hoos’ official resignation as the 10th Circuit Judge was September 1.

The appointment begins October 28 and will end December 6, 2020, when the position will be filled in hte November 2020 general election

Doscotch was recommended by Justice Thoms Kilbride of the Illinois Supreme Court after an application, evaluation and interview process, according to a press release by the ISC. Under the Illinois Constitution, the ISC has the authority to fill judicial vacancies.

Doscotch owns the Law Office of Chris Doscoth, LLC, which was founded in 2010. He received his bachelor of arts from Knox College and received his juris doctor from the Southern Illinois University School of Law.
