Peoria police and PCAV to canvass for answers in 4-year-old’s shooting death

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) — Peoria Community Against Violence and the Peoria Police Department will go door-to-door canvassing to find answers in the shooting death of a four-year-old boy.

The canvass starts in the 2800 block of W. Ann St. at 1 p.m. Jeremiah Ward, 4, was fatally shot Monday evening outside the Lincoln Terrace Apartments. A 23-year-old man was also shot in the leg.

Anyone who wants to help is asked to turn out and look for PCAV members in blue shirts or vests.

A prayer vigil is also set for 7 p.m. in the 2800 block of Ann.
