The family of Peoria’s most recent homicide victim, Charee Alexander,19, have decided to donate her organs as they said it would be something she would have wanted.

Alexander was pronounced dead Friday at 2:05 p.m. Less than 24 hours after being stabbed in her neck during one of several fights that broke out in Schmoeger Park on Thursday afternoon.

During a flag raise and balloon release in her honor Saturday the family remembered her life and how she will continue on through her organ donations.

“I’ve just been really numb like lost. I don’t know how to feel. Half the time I feel like I want to leave with my sister because we do everything together. She wasn’t a violent a person she didn’t deserve anything bad. She was a really good person,” her sister Shatiya Alexander said.

Which organs, and how many, will be donated is unknown at this time. Autopsy results are still pending.
