Isbell sentenced to 12 years for death of East Peoria woman

MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) — For the murder of an East Peoria woman, Matthew Isbell was sentenced to 12 years in prison Monday (July 29).

Isbell, of Marquette Heights, was found guilty of three counts of second degree murder, but two were dismissed, for the death of Theresa Ann Poehlman. He received credit for 750 days already served.

According to the Pantagraph, co-defendant Christine Roush, who is the victims daughter, pleaded guilty to murder in December and is serving 40 years.

Poehlman’s body was discovered by hikers in a wooded area in July 2017 at Funks grove.
