LeRoy police save large turtle stranded on I-74

LEROY, Ill. (WEEK) — A McLean County police department saved a large turtle found on Interstate 74 this morning.

The LeRoy Police Department received several calls from worried motorists concerned about the turtle. Local police successfully moved the turtle out of the road until the Illinois Department of Transportation arrived to move the reptile to a safe place.

The post went viral on social media, with more than 1,200 shares as of 1 p.m. Thursday.
