Bloomington Police are showing off a new tool to help them protect and serve.
Neighbors, a free App, is what Bloomington Police are calling Facebook for safety and protecting from crime.
Neighbors works through Amazon’s Ring doorbell cameras, but you don’t need to have any of those to use the App.
Residents can share and comment anonymously through the App on package thefts, fake solicitors, suspicious activity and more.
The App also curates news related to crime localized to your address.
Bloomington Police are calling it a digital form of neighborhood watch.
“You know, we could have 13,000, 14,000 people in our Bloomington community that can help solve crimes,” said Bloomington Officer John Fermon. “There’s a huge potential for this application to help reduce crime in the area.”
The App does require an email and physical address to sign up.
