Normal West varsity team to play after bus crash tragedy

The Normal West Community High School girl’s varsity basketball team will play their home game tonight after Wednesday’s tragic school bus accident.

All eight Normal West junior varsity basketball players were released from area hospitals after last night’s accident. Coach Steve Price is at OSF Saint Francis in Peoria with several broken bones.

Beloved volunteer Charlie Crabtree, 72, of Normal, died in the accident, as did the 34-year-old Iowa man driving a semi involved in the crash.

The community is asked to pack the Normal West gym tonight at their game versus Richwoods High School to support the team. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
