You see, Aimee Shinall works in what is typically viewed as an all-male dominated field at the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Aimee serves as the Victim Service Coordinator. In fact, she is the only one who holds this position.

She handles cases ranging from sexual assault to identity theft to domestic violence and elder abuse. Working directly with victims to get them the services they need during their darkest times.

But her service and influence doesn’t stop at the office door.  Aimee is involved in her community providing education opportunities for groups around Peoria on how to keep themselves safe and how to avoid falling victim to a crime. She is on the Board of Directors for Peoria County Triad, a group dedicated to reducing the instances of crimes against the elderly.

She also serves on the Central Illinois Fatality Review Team and frequently partners with the Center for Prevention of Abuse and their Adult Protective Services Department. Her calm, caring demeanor sets people at ease and provides comfort to those who need it.

Aimee proves women can not only shine but play a major role in a male dominated field.  Let’s welcome Aimee to the 25 Women in Leadership.
