PEORIA (WEEK) – A kitchen in an apartment building in the Lexington Hills Apartment complex sustained an estimated $10,000 after a fire.
No residents were inside at the time, but one bystander was treated for a minor cut to his hand while attempting to check the apartment for anyone inside, according to a release from the Peoria Fire Department.
Firefighters found the fire had started in the kitchen and had been extinguished.
The Red Cross was called for housing for one occupant that arrived on scene after fire was extinguished.
The fire was ruled as accidental.
