The 101st season for Peoria Players Theatre kicked off this afternoon with a meet and greet for anyone interested in getting involved on stage, backstage, or in the audience.
Fun fact, they’re the longest running theater in Illinois and 4th longest nationwide.
They’re prepping to start with their kids theater production ‘Back to the 80’s’ on August 7th and with more to come.
Six of their upcoming shows include Tarzan, Million Dollar Quartet, Matilda, Kinky Boots, Mamma Mia, and a Raisin in the Sun.
Business Administrator Nicki Haschke says they still have to cast most of the shows and always need extra help behind the scenes. “We have lots of opportunities to get involved onstage, backstage. We have auditions coming up next weekend for Matilda the musical July 26th and 27th. Backstage work, set building, lighting, costume and sound. We can always use more help with that.”
If you missed the season launch party Sunday, you can always contact Peoria Players through their Facebook if you’d like to get involved in all the action coming this season.
