House Fire Erupts in East Peoria

Firefighters in East Peoria were busy trying to get a house fire under control.

Around 8:30 p.m. tonight, heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the home on George Court just off Springfield road. People inside managed to escape unharmed along with the family dog. Three cats remain unaccounted for. Although there’s no official word on what caused the blaze, a police officer on the scene said they suspected it started in the chimney.
