Davis edges out Londrigan in hotly-contested 13th congressional race

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) has won another term to Congress, but not without a fight.

Davis defeated Springfield Democrat in the hotly-contested race for the sprawling 13th Congressional District. The race was one of four targeted by national Democrats in the 2018 midterms, along with two in the Chicago suburbs and one in the St. Louis suburbs of Illinois.

At one point, internal polling from the Londrigan campaign showed her a single point behind Davis, who narrowly beat Bloomington’s David Gill for the seat in 2012, but has shown steadily increasing winning margins since.

Davis represents parts of McLean County.
