Darin LaHood wins 18th Congressional race

Incumbent U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Peoria) easily cruised to another two years in Congress Tuesday.

LaHood beat Democrat Junius Rodriguez of Eureka in a 2018 rematch after also defeating him in 2016 in the Republican-drawn district.

LaHood was first appointed to the seat to replace Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Peoria), who resigned amid legal questions about his spending.

The 18th Congressional District covers parts or all of 19 counties, including Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Stark, McLean, Mason and Logan.
