Vice President Mike Pence headed to Illinois

Vice President Mike Pence will be in Illinois later this week to raise money for U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis.

The former Indiana governor will be in Springfield on Friday at a fundraiser luncheon. The event at Panther Creek Golf Course features remarks from Pence and paid photo opportunities.

Seats start out at $500 per person, with a photo opportunity running $2,700.

Davis’ Democratic opponent, Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, blasted the visit, citing a recent poll commissioned by her campaign showing her polling within a point of the incumbent Republican from Taylorville.

Davis’ 13th Congressional District stretches from Bloomington-Normal to the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.
