Abby Lotz is a leader in the neuroscience service line at OSF Healthcare Illinois Neurological Institute. She is a nursing director who assists in leading many of the neuroscience clinical efforts for the entire OSF Healthcare system.
She spends much of her time working with clinicians to improve patient care, leads the system’s stroke programs and guideline development, and leads the neuroscience provider recruitment process. Abby has also mentored master’s level nursing students for their clinical hours through Saint Francis College of Nursing.
But Abby’s job doesn’t stop at the hospital doors. Her volunteer efforts relate to her dedication to the neurosciences. Abby oversees the Think First injury prevention program. This is an IDOT grant-funded program that educates area schools about injury prevention and brain health, texting drinking and driving risks, Prom night DUI crash re-enactments and helmet/bike safety to low income schools. She also participates and supports fundraisers, especially for neurosciences…MS, Parkinson’s, Brain Tumors, Stroke and Huntington’s Disease. Abby works to improve lives and health of others today and in the future.
Let’s welcome Abby to the 25 Women in Leadership.
