Carie’s story shows how rising to fulfill a community need can turn into a full-time career. Carie’s journey started when she decided to be a stay at home Mom. She volunteered at Pearce Community Center by running the Moms and Tots program.
When her oldest child began school Carie became aware of the need for a before and after school program, so she started one at Pearce Community Center and this lead the way for creating a youth summer camp program through Pearce Community Center as well. These two programs combined bring in over $170,000 a year to this non-for-profit organization.
Carie now works as the Operations Director for the center overseeing all their programs. By fulfilling the needs of her community, she has earned her place among the 25 Women in Leadership.
