Her boss says, “she is the best employee I’ve ever hired”. Trish O’Shaughnessy started as a part-time employee with the Peoria Public Schools Foundation in 2014 in a pilot program on career and college readiness. This program initially served 3 schools and 75 students. The program grew to serve all 13 middle schools. This next school year this program, now called Horizons, is expanding into the primary and high school and will reach thousands of students.
Trish also now oversees seven employees and is the full-time Director of Community Engagement for the Foundation. Trish is viewed as an expert in career and college readiness in our community. She mentors not only students but staff.
Professional development grant writing, instructional materials…Trish is in charge and is willing to do what it takes for this program and for her students to succeed.
Let’s join in welcoming Trish to the 25 Women in Leadership.
