I’m a May graduate from Eastern Illinois University and I joined WEEK just a few weeks later!

Nick Jansen

I joined WEEK in August of 2016 as a meteorologist for 25 News Today. I started my career as an intern at WHBF-TV in the Quad Cities, then worked at WREX-TV in Rockford as the weekend meteorologist and photographer. I was born and raised in Illinois, growing up in East Moline.

It all began at a 3,000 watt FM station in Sullivan, Illinois in the summer of ’76.  That was my first paid broadcasting job and I’ve been on the air (and getting paid) since.  As a child growing up in Marquette Heights, I loved watching weather and I dreamed of being on Peoria radio and TV and my dreams came true.
