Alex Menke

Hello everyone! My name is Alex Menke. I am a MMJ for WEEK and HOI. As a native of West Peoria, I have tons of Peoria pride.  For college I went down to Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, graduated, and moved right back. I love to foster and rescue animals. I’m obsessed  with my three funny and furry cats and my sweet rabbit. I look forward to telling your stories!! 

Leon Hendricks

Leon Hendricks was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1970. He received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News from Illinois State University, in 1992. He has performed multiple duties at WEEK.

My name is Dave Janssen otherwise known to my news staff as DJ and I’m from Pekin, Illinois.  I broke into the news business in 1985 getting my foot in the door as a production grip, floor director and chyron operator and eventually a news photojournalist  for WRAU 19 otherwise known as WHOI 19 when they changed to new call letters…

Coming back to the Peoria area has been like coming home for me. Although I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, both of my parents are from Central Illinois (Groveland and Green Valley.) As a result, most of my holidays, winter breaks, and summers were spent here visiting grandparents and extended family.

Hello, everyone! I’m Mason Dowling, Multimedia Journalist and reporter for WEEK 25 / WHOI 19.  I was born and raised down in Belleville, Illinois, just east of St. Louis. I attended Loyola University up in Chicago, originally under the premise of going into Medical School – but after taking a few journalism courses, I knew I had found my calling.

Hello, my name is John Kendall. I am the current senior morning show producer at 25 News. I joined the 25 News staff in November of 2011, as an associate producer. Since then, I have done about everything here at the station, including producing HOI News Daybreak for nearly two and a half years, and 25 News Today for a year and a half.

I am humbled by the opportunity to share the stories of central Illinois; the place that I have called home almost my entire life,” says Gina.
