(WEEK) -- Women who live in Marshall, Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties who are not insured are eligible to receive a free mammogram Friday, October 15, on National Mammography Day.
UnityPoint Health - Central Illinois and the Tazewell County Health Department are partnering to ensure women have access to health resources, after many women delayed regular screenings because of the pandemic, according to a joint release.
"We are always trying to educate women about their breast health and knowing when things are normal or abnormal," said diagnostic radiologist Dr. Christine Wigginton. "And educating women on getting their screening exams on breast health and other types of cancer."
Uninsured women from the aforementioned counties ages 40-64 are eligible to receive a free walk-in mammogram, from 9-4 p.m., at the three UnityPoint Health locations listed below:
