Multimedia Journalist

WEEK Television, Inc. the NBC and ABC affiliate in Peoria, Illinois has an immediate opening for a Multimedia Journalist that produces nine hours of news each day.  We produce newscasts with two sets of anchors in two studios and two control rooms to serve our viewers.

As an MMJ, your job will be to find and tell the stories of the people and issues of Central Illinois, producing content on multiple platforms: TV, online, and on social media. Work in an environment that favors enterprise reporting and is equipped with the latest gear to allow for live reporting.

The job requires solid writing, reporting, shooting, and editing skills, the ability to take direction and mentoring, and creativity in storytelling. You need to be able to recognize news when you see it, to build relationships with sources and your co-workers, and value the contribution media offers to society.

A degree in communications or journalism is preferred, along with experience in student television news operations.
