First responders rush to rollover crash in south Peoria

PEORIA (WEEK) - Peoria Police and fire crews rushed to the scene Monday evening of a two-vehicle crash in which one of the cars hit a power pole and rolled on its top.

The Peoria Fire Department said one person was injured and taken to a local hospital following the crash at MacArthur Highway and John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue about 6:30 p.m.

The power pole was cut in half, and top of the pole landed on the car, according to the battalion chief.

About a half-hour earlier, two juveniles were wounded in a shooting at Logan Park, but police were not commenting whether there was any connection.

The fire official said no one was hurt in the second car.

Police said they're investigating the crash.
