UPDATE (8:25 p.m) - The shooting Monday evening at Logan Park that left two juveniles wounded is linked to a rollover crash less than 30 minutes later at MacArthur Highway and John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue.
Police spokesperson Semone Roth said officers responding to the shooting saw several people get into a vehicle and drive off about 6:20 p.m.
Police said they followed that vehicle, which crashed into another vehicle at the intersection, hit a utility pole and rolled on its top.
Six people were in the vehicle. Four of the occupants ran off and were not in custody Monday night, according to police. Two others, both juveniles, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries they suffered in the rollover.
Police also said the vehicle they were in was stolen.
The juveniles wounded in the shooting suffered minor injuries, according to police.
UPDATE (6:45 p.m.) - Peoria Police confirm two people were shot Monday evening in south Peoria.
Police said the injuries were serious, but apparently not life threatening.
A 25 News crew saw one of the victims with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
PEORIA (WEEK) - At least one person has been shot after reports of gunfire Monday evening in south Peoria.
The shooting happened near the corner of Livingston and Starr Streets just after 6 p.m.
A 25 News crew, at nearby Logan Park covering a memorial for four people killed a year ago in a street racing crash, reported seeing one gunshot victim.
No other details were immediately available.
