PEORIA (WEEK)- After two years the Super Fest is back. Members of the Peoria Amateur Club come together on an annual basis to buy equipment and network with others interested in the radio industry.

The club offers education to assist those who may consider radio a hobby with getting licensed. Licensing and testing services are offered all year.  The organization says since the COVID-19 shut down they're happy to report 20 new members have joined. There has been an increase in female members which the club is happy to encourages.

Amateur Radio Operators volunteer to assist the American Red Cross and other local emergency communications in the event of a disaster.

"We can't let this die because it's too important to everybody. Because when the cell towers go down which they do, there's no other way to talk," said Deb Suhs, Chairman of the Peoria Chapter.
