NORMAL (WEEK) -- The developer in the Trail East project is no longer pursuing the project.

AJ Loss, Manager of Bush Development LLC., said they have exhausted every viable option.

Bush Development has worked with the Town of Normal to overcome numerous obstacles -- including a lawsuit and the devastating impact market and economic conditions had on the project.

“We couldn’t be more appreciative of the Town of Normal, local supporters and the investors and tenants that committed to Trail East," Loss said. "Together, we were so very close to bringing a remarkable development to life."

"We’re confident every tenant will find the most cost-efficient space for their business to flourish and the Town of Normal will continue with its exceptional growth plans.”

A statement from the Town of Normal said that residential options were in high demand and that the northeast part of Uptown Circle is ideal for a mixed-use building with options for residents.

"Town staff will begin seeking out other potential developers for the area," the statement said.
