BARTONVILLE (WEEK) -- Saturday marked the sixth year of the Vets for Vets motorcycle ride in Bartonville. Money raised from the ride went to support several organizations including one that connects veterans with service dogs, and a group that fixes wheelchairs for those in need.
Since the event began five years ago, they have raised more than $30,000. For the ride on Saturday, they were hoping to raise anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000.
"We're veterans trying to help veterans, there's a lot of other organizations out there doing the same thing and they need money to do that, so we try to help supply some of that money," said Robert Dant with the Vets for Vets Coalition.
After leaving from Bartonville, the group of several dozen riders rode through Washburn, Chillicothe, Dunlap, Brimfield, and North Pekin.
