UPDATE (9:48 p.m.) - Authorities say man who shot at police was taken into police custody about 9:40 p.m. on Friday. Police said they found the suspect at Peoria's UnityPoint Health-Methodist Hospital.
It is not known if the man was injured. Sheriff Brian Asbell said two deputies returned fire at the suspect who ran into a wooded area near Bradley Park. The deputies were not injured, but taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to the sheriff.
UPDATE (8:51 p.m.) - Safety worries prompted the Corn Stock Theatre on Park Road near Bradley Park to cancel its Friday night performance. The theatre will provide refunds to ticketholders.
UPDATE (8:18 p.m.) - Authorities continue to look for a gunman who opened fire on two Peoria County Sheriff's Deputies who responded to a call in West Peoria.
Sheriff Brian Asbell said the deputies returned fire and the suspect ran into a wooded area.
"Both deputies are fine. We are taking them to the hospital though for evaluation," said Asbell.
A drone is being used as police search for the suspect in areas including Bradley Park. Bradley PD, Peoria Park District Police and Illinois State Police are aiding in the search.
Asbell said the man should be considered armed and dangerous, and he urges people to stay away from the area.

PEORIA COUNTY (WEEK) - The Peoria Emergency Communications Center said Friday evening that authorities have closed the intersections of Park Road at Farmington Road and Nebraska Avenue at Rhodora.
There was a heavy police presence in the area as authorities were said to be looking for a man with a gun.
The Peoria County Sheriff's Office and the Peoria Police Department are conducting the search, authorities said.
