The Wednesday forecast features dangerous heat under partly cloudy skies. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the low 90s. A surge in humidity will combine with the air temperatures to bring heat index values in the 100° to 105° range both Wednesday and Thursday. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the majority of the area.
A line of severe thunderstorms is expected to develop over central Wisconsin today. The line of storms will slide south and east late tonight and a part of the line may move through the northeast portion of the viewing area. Any storms that move through will have the potential to bring damaging wind gusts.
Dry weather is expected areawide by daybreak Thursday, with partly cloudy skies for much of the day. A few isolated storms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening, mainly to the south of the I-74 corridor.
