PEKIN (WEEK) -- The Avanti's Dome in Pekin is still down but events are carrying on.
Last month, a series of severe storms in the area caused the dome to collapse.
The manager of the facility, Brian Wonders says some events scheduled to take place in the dome had to find alternate venues.
Overall, Wonders says the collapse did not harm the facility financially, as the dome itself does not host many events in the summer.
"In the past the dome hasn't been used a lot during the summer so we're looking to ramp it up this late summer or fall, we'll be doing that a lot more next summer," says the manager at Avanti's Dome Brian Wonders. "Once everything is going full go, hopefully the summer will end up being the busiest because we'll have all three main areas going at once."
Wonders says he hopes the dome will be back before winter, which is the facility's busiest season.
Until then, the Avanti's complex is still operating their outdoor ball fields and banquet center.
