Two men killed in weekend Peoria shooting identified

PEORIA (WEEK) -- The two men who died in a weekend Peoria shooting have been identified.

First responders arrived at the scene at around 1:08 a.m. Sunday at an apartment complex in the 900 block of West Crestwood.

Outside of the building, 19-year-old Rashad Williams, of Peoria Heights, was found unresponsive and not breathing, with apparent gunshot wounds, said Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.

Despite resuscitative efforts, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:41 a.m.. An autopsy shows Williams suffered multiple gunshot wounds and most likely died instantly, said Harwood.

Inside the complex, 28-year-old Josiah Hanson, of McDonough, Georgia, was found with with an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

Hanson was pronounced dead at 4:10 a.m. Sunday.

An autopsy shows Hanson was shot in the torso and died of internal bleeding.

The investigation remains open by the Peoria Police Department.
