PEORIA (WEEK) -- The man being charged with first degree murder in the death of a prominent Peoria physician has been booked into the Peoria County Jail, according to online records.
Robert Ely is currently being held on a $5 million bond, according to the jail's website.
Ely was being held in St. Louis awaiting extradition to Peoria County. It wasn't immediately clear what happened with Ely's extradition process, but records show he was booked in to the county's jail on Wednesday.
Ely is being accused of murder in Dr. William Marshall's homicide.
In January, police entered Marshall's residence and found he had been stabbed to death in the basement of his north Peoria home.
Online records from the Peoria County Circuit Clerk's Office show a warrant was served on Wednesday also.
Messages to the Peoria County State's Attorney's Office and the Peoria County Sheriff's Office were not immediately returned.
