PEORIA (WEEK) -- Once delayed, the opening of a public pool in Peoria has now been called off entirely.
A few weeks ago, the Peoria Park District said it was having trouble hiring enough lifeguards to staff all three of its pools.
As a result, the district delayed opening the John Gwynn Family Aquatic Center.
Now, the pool will stay closed for the duration of the summer, according to the Peoria Park District's website.
The Proctor Recreation Center Pool and the Aquaplex at the Riverplex in downtown Peoria are both open.
