BARTONVILLE (WEEK) - Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire early Wednesday that damaged a Bartonville home.

Firefighters said they saw heavy fire and smoke inside the two-story home at 106 Peru Avenue when they responded just after midnight. The home was vacant, and no injuries were reported.

It took firefighters 20 minutes to knock down the fire, but they stayed at the scene for hours searching for hot spots.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.

The Bartonville Fire Department said it was assisted at the scene by firefighters from West Peoria, Limestone, and the Air Guard. Logan Trivoli and Tuscarora firefighters stood by at the Bartonville fire house.
