EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- It is unclear what caused an overnight house fire in East Peoria, that left seven displaced.
The East Peoria Assistant Fire Chief says the call came in around 1 AM Wednesday in the 100 block of Anderson Avenue.
When crews got on scene, the seven family members were already outside, but crews had to rescue 11 pets, a mix of dogs and cats.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 10 minutes.
Several departments were also called in to help fight the fire or cover the East Peoria fire station.
The Red Cross and family members are assisting those affected.
Damage is estimated at $50,000.
No one was injured.
