Gunfire in Peoria leaves two people wounded

PEORIA (WEEK) - Peoria Police said two people were wounded Friday in a shooting involving occupants of two cars.

Police were called just before 9:10 p.m. and they found two people with gunshot wounds to the leg in the 2300 block of West Glen Avenue.

The fight happened somewhere in the area of University Street and Forest Hill Avenue, and shots were fired as the vehicles left the scene, said Amy Dotson, the Peoria Police public information officer.

She said the shooting victims were found in one of the vehicles on Glen Avenue and taken to local hospitals. Their conditions are not available.

Friday night, police provided no information about any suspects.
