PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- An unattached garage is destroyed, and nearby structures saw some siding melt after an early morning garage fire in Peoria.
Battalion Chief Steve Rada says it broke out at 2:10 AM Monday in the 500 block of West Loucks.
When firefighters arrived, they found a fully involved garage near the alley in flames, with radiant heat from the fire melting siding off nearby structures.
Due to the fire, the garage did collapse into the yard and alley.
It was under control within 20 minutes, but Community Development ordered an emergency demolition of the garage due to the amount of damage.
No one was injured, and a cause is unknown.
