BLOOMINGTON (WEEK) - An art gallery in Bloomington is encouraging people to stop and smell the roses, or in this case stop and admire artwork.

The Eaton Gallery is hosting a "Slow Art Days Event" where community members are asked to take a few minutes to appreciate artwork and then write down their thoughts.

Pamala Eaton at the gallery said she hopes this opportunity will allow for people to develop an appreciation for art and local artists.

"We are so busy hurrying around," said Eaton. "When you slow down and pay attention to your space and place you start to see more value in that. That's probably one of the values of COVID, it's slowed us all down."

The window exhibit for "Slow Art Days" is available for viewing now until April 30th at 411 North Center Street.

Eaton said people are also encouraged to come inside and enjoy the art in the gallery.
