Peoria IL (WEEK) - Country music star Morgan Wallen is not coming to perform in Peoria this summer, after he announces a break on Instagram.
This comes months after he was suspended from his label and taken off radio stations for using a racial slur.
Wallen was scheduled to play at Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in June for the Tailgate N' Tallboys concert series, but the facility announced in February he was not welcome.
USA Concerts & Events was still planning on hosting Wallen's concert elsewhere, until today's announcement. His replacement is to be announced Wednesday.
Now, Tailgates N' Tallboys is being extended to three days, instead of two at the Louisville Slugger Complex.
According to a press release from USA Concerts:
- • Tailgate N’ Tallboys has been extended to THREE DAYS of hit country music!
- • Existing 2-day ticket buyers will automatically receive a 3-day pass upgrade.
- • For Thursday ticket holders—continue to save the date. We have a huge announcement coming tomorrow for our Thursday night headliner. At this time we will also announce our amazing Saturday line-up.
- • Tailgate N’ Tallboys Festival will now be 12 artists over 3 days at Louisville Slugger Sports Complex June 3-5, 2021, Peoria, Illinois.
“I’m disappointed in Wallen’s withdrawal but grateful for our community who has shown an amazing amount of support for Tailgate N’ Tallboys this year. It has been a long pandemic lockdown and we’re all looking for a safe and fun opportunity to kick-off the summer," said President of USA Concerts, Wayne Klein.
