Teen arrested for Peoria business burglary


PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- A 16-year-old boy is in the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center after being arrested in connection with an early morning business burglary.

Peoria Police say they were called to BMW of Peoria on West Pioneer Parkway just before 3 AM Tuesday, on a call for an intrusion alarm.

Once they arrived, officers saw a light turn off from inside the business, and a broken window. Further movement was then see inside the business, as the suspect was trying to hide from officers. Police say the teen then left the dealership, and ran, before being arrested after a chase.

Peoria Police say they also recovered a stolen vehicle from another jurisdiction was recovered from the BMW lot.

The teen, whose name is not being released due to his age, faces multiple charges, including business burglary, theft, resisting/obstructing, criminal trespass to a vehicle, and vehicle theft conspiracy.
